Munchkins is the next step for young dancers who are ready to go beyond weekly classes and experience the excitement of being part of a performance team.

Led by re.DEFINE Studio Owners Mappy and Margela, Munchkins is intentionally designed to introduce dancers to the same values, culture, and positive learning environment that define re.DEFINE from the very beginning of their journey. Through structured classes, dancers develop strong dance fundamentals, performance skills, confidence, and teamwork while feeling encouraged, supported, and challenged every step of the way.

Whether Munchkins becomes the start of a lifelong dance journey or simply the next step in their growth, our goal is for every dancer to leave class smiling, growing, and excited to come back.

For Mappy and Margela, Munchkins is more than a performance team - it's where the culture of re.DEFINE begins.

As Studio Owners, they intentionally lead Munchkins to introduce young dancers to the same values that define every part of re.DEFINE: confidence, kindness, teamwork, respect, and a genuine love for dance. They believe a child's earliest experiences should be positive, encouraging, and filled with opportunities to grow both as dancers and as individuals.

Now parents themselves, Mappy and Margela understand the importance of creating a safe, welcoming environment where children feel seen, supported, and excited to learn. Their hope is that every child leaves class with greater confidence, meaningful friendships, and a smile that makes them excited to come back the following week.

To them, Munchkins isn't simply the youngest team—it's where lifelong dancers, lasting friendships, and the re.DEFINE family begin.

 

Before You Take the Next Step

Joining a performance team is an exciting milestone, and we want both dancers and parents to feel confident before taking that next step. Here are answers to some of the questions we receive most often.

 

  • Yes. Munchkins is designed for young dancers who already have some dance experience and are ready to take the next step beyond weekly classes. During our Open Classes or a private evaluation, our directors will determine if Munchkins is the right fit based on your child's experience, readiness, and potential.

  • Dancers typically join through our Munchkins Open Classes, which are held during select times throughout the season. We also offer annual auditions and private evaluations when appropriate. After meeting your child, our directors will determine if Munchkins is the best placement for their current stage of development.

    Our directors carefully consider each dancer's skill, experience, growth potential, and overall fit to ensure they're placed where they'll be challenged, supported, and set up for success. Dancers who are selected will be invited to join Collective.

  • Munchkins rehearses every Wednesday from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM. We encourage dancers to attend rehearsals consistently so they can continue growing with the team and prepare for upcoming performances.
