How Can We Help?
Whether you're taking your very first dance class or you've been part of the re.DEFINE family for years, we've gathered answers to the questions we hear most often.
Explore the topics below to learn more about our classes, tuition, showcases, studio policies, and everything in between.
If you can't find what you're looking for, we're always happy to help.
Getting Started
A great place to begin if you're new to re.DEFINE.
-
Getting started is easy! Simply create a Studio Pro account through our website, browse our current class schedule, and register for the class you'd like to join.
If you're not sure which class is the best fit, don't worry—we're happy to help. We also encourage new students to try a drop-in class before committing to monthly tuition.
-
We primarily place students based on age and experience.
If you're new to dance, we typically recommend starting with one of our beginner classes. If you or your child has previous dance experience, we'll ask a few questions and may recommend a drop-in class so our instructors can evaluate the best placement afterward.
Our goal is to place every dancer in a class where they'll feel challenged, supported, and set up for success.
-
Absolutely!
We encourage new students to attend a drop-in class before committing to monthly tuition. It's a great opportunity to meet the instructor, experience our teaching style, and make sure the class feels like the right fit.
If you decide to continue, you can complete your registration anytime through your Studio Pro account. If you have questions along the way, we're always happy to help.
-
t this time, we do not offer free trial classes.
Instead, we offer drop-in classes, which provide the same experience as a regular class without requiring a monthly commitment. Many families find this to be the best way to explore our program before enrolling.
-
Yes!
Students are welcome to join at any time during the month, provided space is available.
Your first month's tuition will automatically be prorated through Studio Pro, so you'll only pay for the remaining classes in that billing cycle.
-
Welcome—we're excited you're here!
Our beginner classes are designed specifically for students who are just starting their dance journey or returning after time away. No previous dance experience is required.
Our instructors focus on building strong fundamentals while creating a positive and encouraging environment where every dancer can grow at their own pace.
-
For your first class, we recommend bringing:
Comfortable clothes you can move in
Clean sneakers (no Crocs or open-toed shoes)
A water bottle
A positive attitude and willingness to learn!
Most importantly, come ready to have fun.
-
We recommend arriving 10–15 minutes early for your first visit.
This gives you time to check in, meet your instructor, and get comfortable before class begins.
If you've already been attending classes, arriving a few minutes early is always appreciated so we can start class on time.
Class Placement
We'll help you find the class where you'll learn, grow, and feel successful.
-
Our classes are generally organized by age and dance experience to create the best learning environment for every student.
Age helps us determine the best starting point, while previous dance experience and instructor evaluation help us recommend the class where each dancer will feel challenged, supported, and successful.
-
That's great!
We'll ask a few questions about their previous dance experience and recommend a class based on their age and background. If we're unsure of the best fit, we may suggest a drop-in class so our instructors can evaluate placement after class.
-
Absolutely.
Families are always welcome to ask about moving to the next level. Our instructors will evaluate each dancer's readiness and recommend the class where they'll continue to learn, grow, and build confidence.
Sometimes that means moving up right away, while other times we may recommend spending a little more time strengthening their foundation first.
-
We always welcome the conversation.
Our recommendations are based on helping every dancer succeed, but we also understand that every student's goals are different. If you have questions about placement, we're happy to talk through the options together.
-
Yes!
In some cases, we may recommend enrolling in both a Beginner class and a more advanced class. This allows dancers to continue building strong fundamentals while also challenging themselves in a higher-level environment.
-
Yes.
Growth doesn't follow a schedule, and dancers develop at different rates. If an instructor feels a student is ready for a new challenge, they may recommend moving to another class at any point during the season.
-
Advancing isn't about moving up as quickly as possible. It's about being in the class where you'll grow the most.
Attendance & Make-Ups
Life happens. Here's how we handle missed classes and make-up opportunities.
-
We understand that life happens! If you know you'll be absent, please send us a quick email so we can update our attendance records.
Whenever possible, we'll help you schedule a make-up class so you can stay on track with your training.
-
No. If your dancer isn't feeling well, we encourage them to stay home, rest, and recover.
Once they're feeling better, we'll gladly help schedule a make-up class.
-
Make-up classes are offered whenever possible and should generally be completed within 30 days of the missed class.
We recommend scheduling your make-up during the same month whenever possible.
When available, make-ups are scheduled in a class of the same age and level. If an equivalent class isn't available, we'll recommend another appropriate option.
-
Just let us know ahead of time by email.
If you'll be away for an extended period, we're happy to discuss the best option for your enrollment and help make your return as smooth as possible.
-
We ask that make-up classes be used within 30 days of the missed class.
This helps dancers stay on pace with their class while giving everyone a fair opportunity to schedule a make-up.
-
Not at this time.
Please email us, and we'll help you find another class that works with your dancer's age and experience level.
-
No worries! Your regular weekly class will continue as scheduled.
Because make-up classes are intended to replace a missed class, we generally aren't able to reschedule another make-up if that one is missed.
-
Monthly tuition reserves your spot in class and isn't based on attendance.
Whenever possible, we'll offer a make-up class so your dancer has the opportunity to make up the missed instruction.
Tuition & Membership
Everything you need to know about tuition, payments, and enrollment.
-
Monthly tuition reserves your spot in class and helps us provide consistent, high-quality training throughout the season.
Because your spot is reserved each month, tuition isn't based on individual class attendance.
-
Our monthly tuition allows students to build consistency, make steady progress, and develop alongside their classmates.
It also helps us maintain balanced class sizes and provide the best learning experience for everyone.
-
Tuition is posted at the beginning of each month and is due by the 15th.
If there's an outstanding balance, Studio Pro will automatically send a payment reminder.
-
No.
AutoPay is available through Studio Pro, but it's completely optional. Families are welcome to choose the payment option that works best for them.
-
We encourage tuition payments through Studio Pro, which accepts major credit and debit cards.
Venmo may also be accepted in special circumstances. If you need another payment option, just let us know.
-
Yes.
If you'll be away for an extended vacation, medical leave, moving, or another significant life event, please email us before the next billing cycle.
We'll work with you to determine the best option based on your situation.
-
The easiest way is by using the Drop Class feature in your Studio Pro account.
You may also email us if you need assistance.
To avoid future tuition charges, please notify us before the next billing cycle.
-
Whenever possible, we prefer to issue a studio credit.
Refund requests are reviewed individually and handled on a case-by-case basis.
-
Yes!
We offer discounted tuition for students enrolled in multiple weekly classes.
Our current pricing is available on our Tuition page.
-
Occasionally, a payment may be declined due to an expired card or other banking issue.
If that happens, Studio Pro will notify you automatically. Simply update your payment information or submit payment by another method, and we'll be happy to help if you need assistance.
-
Absolutely.
If you'd like to switch to another class, just send us an email. We'll do our best to help you find another class that fits your schedule and experience level, provided space is available.

-
Sometimes, yes.
Depending on the team, upcoming performances, and available space, we may welcome new members during the season.
Reach out to us, and we'll let you know what opportunities are currently available.
-
Yes.
Our Dance Teams are intended for dancers who already have a foundation in dance.
If you're brand new to dance, we recommend starting with our weekly classes first. Once you've built your fundamentals, we'd love to help you take the next step toward joining a team.
-
Absolutely—and we highly encourage it!
Most of our team dancers are also enrolled in at least one weekly class.
Weekly classes help dancers continue developing strong fundamentals while their team rehearsals focus on choreography, performance, and preparing for upcoming events.
-
Each team rehearses once a week, with additional performances or events throughout the year.
The level of commitment varies by team, and we'll go over all of the details during your Open Class or Open Rehearsal.
-
Once placement decisions have been made, we'll contact you with everything you need to get started, including:
Team membership information
Rehearsal schedule
Tuition and fees
Performance expectations
Important upcoming dates
We'll guide you through the next steps and answer any questions before the season begins.
Explore each team to learn about tuition, rehearsal schedules, expectations, and what makes each program unique.
Showcase & Performances
Celebrate the season and share everything you've worked so hard on.
-
No.
Our showcases are optional, but we highly encourage every dancer to participate. Performing on stage is a wonderful opportunity to build confidence, celebrate hard work, and create lasting memories.
If your dancer chooses not to perform, they're still welcome to attend class, learn the choreography, and continue training with their classmates.
-
We typically produce two showcases each year:
Flourish – Summer Showcase
Wonderland – Winter Showcase
Additional performances and community events may be offered throughout the year.
-
The Performer's Fee helps cover the cost of the official performer shirt and other event-related materials.
We'll always communicate the current Performer's Fee and what's included before registration opens for each showcase.
-
Each instructor chooses the costume concept that best fits their routine.
In most cases, families purchase costume pieces themselves using a costume guide provided by the instructor.
Occasionally, the studio may coordinate a group purchase for convenience.
-
Showcase tickets are typically available through Studio Pro and may also be available at the theater on the day of the performance, depending on availability.
We always recommend purchasing tickets in advance, as some performances may sell out.
-
Yes.
Dress rehearsal is an important part of preparing for a successful performance and is required for all performers.
If an emergency prevents your dancer from attending, please contact us as soon as possible.
-
Regular attendance becomes especially important as the showcase approaches.
If a dancer falls behind, we may recommend a private lesson to help them catch up. In some cases, if a dancer isn't adequately prepared, we may recommend sitting out of the performance while continuing to participate in class.
Our goal is always to help every dancer have a positive and successful performance experience.
-
Yes! Families are welcome to capture memories during the performance whenever permitted by the venue.
We also professionally record every showcase and make the videos available to watch on our website and download free of charge after the event.
-
Our showcases are about more than just performing.
They're a celebration of growth, confidence, and everything our dancers have worked so hard to accomplish throughout the season. Whether it's someone's first time on stage or their fiftieth, every performance is an opportunity to create memories that last long after the curtain closes.
Studio Experience
From viewing areas to studio culture, here's what you can expect as part of the re.DEFINE family.
-
Yes!
Families are always welcome to watch class from our designated viewing areas.
Studio A: The Fish Tank
Studio B: Lobby Viewing Area
These spaces allow families to enjoy watching while giving dancers the opportunity to stay focused during class.
-
The Fish Tank is the viewing area connected to Studio A.
The nickname comes from the large observation window where family and friends can watch class without distracting the dancers. It's become one of our favorite little traditions at re.DEFINE.
-
We recommend bringing:
Comfortable athletic clothing
Clean sneakers (no Crocs or open-toed shoes)
A water bottle
A positive attitude and willingness to learn
Most importantly, come ready to have fun!
-
Absolutely!
Parents are welcome to record classes. We also record portions of class for attendance, choreography review, and educational reference.
-
No worries!
Your dancer will remain safely inside the studio with one of our staff members until you arrive.
If you're running significantly late, we appreciate a quick text or email so we know you're on your way.
-
Yes.
Siblings are welcome to stay in our viewing areas as long as they help us maintain a respectful environment for everyone.
-
Water bottles are always encouraged.
Light snacks are welcome in The Fish Tank or lobby and are especially common during longer rehearsals.
From time to time, we also provide snacks for our dancers during rehearsals and special events.
-
There is plenty of parking around our building.
As a reminder, please avoid leaving valuables visible inside your vehicle.
-
Comfortable clothing that's easy to move in and clean sneakers are recommended for every class.
For safety reasons, Crocs and open-toed shoes are not permitted during class.
-
We believe dance is about more than learning choreography.
Our goal is to create a positive, welcoming community where dancers are challenged, supported, and encouraged to grow—not only as dancers, but as people.
We strive to create an environment where every student feels seen, valued, and inspired to become the best version of themselves.
Good to Know
The little things that make your experience even smoother.
-
We observe select holidays throughout the year. Any planned studio closures will be announced in advance by email and posted on our website.
Tuition is not prorated for scheduled holiday closures, though make-up classes may be offered at the studio's discretion.
-
If class is canceled due to severe weather, a building issue, or another unforeseen circumstance, we'll notify families by email as soon as possible.
If time allows, we'll also contact affected families directly.
-
Yes!
Lost items are placed in our Lost & Found cubby located in Studio A.
We recommend labeling personal belongings whenever possible, and encourage families to check the cubby regularly for missing items.
-
Yes.
Throughout the season, we may capture photos and videos during classes, rehearsals, performances, and special events.
These moments help us celebrate our dancers and share the re.DEFINE experience with our community.
-
The safety of our dancers is always our priority.
Our studios are equipped with basic first aid supplies, and our staff will provide appropriate care for minor injuries. If additional care is needed, we'll contact a parent or emergency contact right away.
-
Yes.
Water bottles are encouraged during every class.
Light snacks are welcome before or after class and are especially common during longer rehearsals. We simply ask that everyone help keep our studio clean by cleaning up after themselves.
-
We ask everyone to help us create the positive environment that makes re.DEFINE special.
We simply ask that everyone:
Treat others with kindness and respect.
Help keep the studio clean.
Take care of our space and equipment.
Follow instructor directions.
Encourage one another and help create a welcoming community.
