πΏ Flourish 2026 Parent FAQ
Welcome to our Flourish 2026 Parent FAQ! We've compiled answers to some of the most common questions we receive leading up to show day.
Before reaching out, please review your Performer's Packet, as many important details such as call times, schedules, venue information, and the show lineup can be found there.
π When is the show?
Flourish: Summer Showcase 2026
Sunday, June 14, 2026
π Castro Valley Center for the Arts
πͺ Doors Open: 5:00 PM
π Show Begins: 5:30 PM
β° What time does my dancer need to arrive?
Please refer to the Performerβs Packet for your dancerβs specific call time. All Minis and Kids must be signed in at drop-off and signed out at pickup during intermission.
π Can my dancer leave after they perform?
Yes. Weekly Class dancers are welcome to leave after their final performance.
That said, we highly encourage dancers and families to stay for the remainder of the show. Every performer has worked incredibly hard preparing for this event, and staying to support fellow dancers is a wonderful way to celebrate our community. It's also great theater etiquette to remain for the full performance whenever possible.
π¨βπ©βπ§ Can my dancer watch the rest of the show with our family?
Yes!
If your dancer would like to watch the remainder of the show with your family, they may do so after they have been picked up during intermission.
Once your dancer has been signed out and checked out by a parent or guardian, they are welcome to sit with their family for the rest of the performance.
Please note: Mini and Kids dancers must be signed out by a parent or guardian before leaving the performer area.
We love seeing our dancers cheer on their classmates and celebrate the entire show together!
βοΈ Where do I pick up my dancer after the show?
Dancers should be picked up from the same location where they checked in and were dropped off at the beginning of the event.
For the safety of our younger performers, parents or guardians of Mini and Kids dancers will be required to sign their dancer out before leaving.
Please be prepared to check out your dancer with one of our staff members or volunteers.
π Can my dancer watch the show when they're not performing?
Absolutely!
Since Flourish 2026 is completely sold out, we've rented the Exhibition Hall so performers can still enjoy the show when they're not on stage.
The show will be projected live in the Exhibition Hall, allowing dancers to support their fellow performers and experience the showcase throughout the evening.
ποΈ Do performers need a ticket to watch the show?
No.
Performers do not need a separate audience ticket to watch the show. Dancers will have access to the Exhibition Hall and designated performer areas throughout the event.
This setup allows our performers to enjoy the showcase while helping us maximize theater seating for families and guests.
π« Can parents stay backstage?
To help us keep backstage organized and safe, parents are not permitted backstage during the show.
The exception is approved parent volunteers.
If your dancer is younger and may need assistance or supervision, please let us know ahead of time. We're happy to work with families and make appropriate arrangements when needed.
π What should my dancer wear when they arrive?
Performing in one routine?
Arrive in costume and show-ready.
Performing in multiple routines?
Arrive dressed in your first costume with hair and makeup completed, if applicable.
π What should my dancer bring?
We recommend bringing only essentials:
β’ Costume pieces and accessories
β’ Dance shoes or sneakers
β’ Water bottle
β’ Hair and makeup supplies (if needed)
β’ A positive attitude π
Please label all personal belongings.
π Will food be available?
Yes!
We will provide snacks, food, and water for performers in the Green Room.
Please note that food and drinks are not permitted inside the theater.
πΈ Can I take photos and videos during the show?
Absolutely!
We welcome families to take photos and videos during the performance. We simply ask that you:
β’ Turn off your flash
β’ Be respectful of those seated around you
β’ Avoid blocking views or aisles while recording
π When will dancers receive their Flourish 2026 shirts?
Flourish 2026 event shirts will be distributed this week to performers who have paid their Performer's Fee.
If your Performer's Fee is still outstanding, we'll lovingly hold your shirt hostage until payment has been received. π
πͺ Can I buy tickets at the door?
Unfortunately, no.
Flourish 2026 is completely sold out, and no additional tickets will be available at the door.
Thank you for helping us fill the theater and celebrate this special anniversary show with a full house!
β What if my dancer misses their call time?
Please contact us immediately.
Late arrivals can affect rehearsal schedules, staging, and show logistics, so we ask that all performers arrive on time and ready to go.
π€ What if my dancer is sick on show day?
Please notify us as soon as possible so we can adjust our lineup and backstage plans accordingly.
ποΈ What is the performer wristband for?
Each performer will receive a wristband at check-in.
This wristband helps us identify performers and provides access to performer-only areas backstage.
Please make sure your dancer keeps their wristband on throughout the event.
